A quick tour of what this sample article demonstrates, and how to replace it with your own reporting.
This is a sample article created by the installer so your homepage is not empty on day one.
Everything on this page - the headline, the cover image, the section label, the tags below, the ad placements around the story - is stored in the database and editable from the admin panel. None of it is hard-coded into a template.
Publishing your first story
- Log in at
/admin. - Go to Articles → New article.
- Write the headline, pick a section, add tags, upload a cover image, then write the story.
- Set the status to Published and save.
What the editor gives you
Headings, bold and italic, links, quotes, lists and inline images - and clean HTML underneath, so every story looks consistent no matter who wrote it. Paste from Google Docs or WhatsApp and the formatting is stripped automatically.
Pull quotes look like this. Select a paragraph in the editor and press the quote button.
Where the ads sit
Ad positions are called slots. There are labelled slots above this story, inside it and down the sidebar. Assign an ad to a slot under Ads - HTML embed code, an uploaded banner with a link, or a Google AdSense unit.
Collecting readers
The signup boxes in the sidebar and footer write straight into your subscriber list, which exports to CSV for Mailchimp, Brevo or MailerLite.
Delete this article whenever you like - it exists only to show you the layout.
