Actor and influencer Sahiba Bali has sparked an online debate after flagging washroom cleanliness at the India AI Impact Summit 2026 in New Delhi.
The summit, being held at Bharat Mandapam, has drawn global leaders, policymakers and technology experts. However, a social media post by Bali shifted attention to basic facilities at the high-profile event.
What Did Sahiba Bali Say?
Bali, who has nearly 900,000 followers on Instagram, shared a story during the summit that read: “Bathroom break out the summit because AI can’t clean bathrooms here.”
The remark suggested dissatisfaction with the condition of the washrooms at the venue. Screenshots of the story quickly circulated on social media platforms, including X, where users began discussing hygiene standards at large international gatherings.
Several commenters questioned how an event hosting global delegates could face issues related to basic amenities. Some described the situation as embarrassing, while others stressed that infrastructure and cleanliness should match the scale of such global events.
Other Issues at the Summit
The washroom concern is not the only criticism the summit has faced. On its opening day, some attendees reported that food counters were accepting only cash payments, without options for cards or UPI. Participants also raised concerns about limited digital payment facilities and connectivity challenges.
The event also saw controversy involving Galgotias University, after a robotic dog displayed at the expo was alleged to have been sourced from Chinese firm Unitree Robotics. The university later apologised for the “confusion” and vacated its stall following directions from organisers.
