Amritsar Soormas clinched the Sher-E-Punjab T20 Cup title with a commanding eight-wicket victory in the final, completing their successful campaign in style.
Chasing the target, Amritsar made light work of the chase as Sahaj Dhawan and Rahul Kumar guided the team comfortably towards victory. Dhawan remained unbeaten on 52 off 50 balls, while Rahul Kumar scored a rapid 41 off 29 deliveries to keep the chase firmly under control.
The Soormas lost Jashanpreet Singh early after he was dismissed for two, but the setback did little to slow their progress. Naman Dhir then provided a powerful burst, smashing 29 from just 12 balls with four sixes before falling to Kartik Chadha.
Dhawan and Rahul subsequently took charge and built a crucial partnership, steadily moving Amritsar closer to the finish. Rahul struck a six in the 16th over before Dhawan sealed the match in emphatic fashion, hitting a four and a six off the final over.
Amritsar reached the winning target in 16.4 overs, finishing the chase with eight wickets in hand. Dhawan’s composed half-century and Rahul’s aggressive contribution ensured there was no late drama as the Soormas completed a memorable title-winning performance.
