Asian Games 2026: India’s Complete Schedule, Events and Key Dates
India will compete across multiple sports at the 2026 Asian Games in Aichi-Nagoya, with key events in cricket, athletics, shooting, hockey, badminton and wrestling.
India will begin its campaign at the 2026 Asian Games in Aichi-Nagoya, Japan, on September 17, with athletes competing across a wide range of disciplines until the Games conclude on October 3. Teqball will open India’s schedule, followed by cricket, badminton, hockey, shooting, boxing, athletics, wrestling, tennis and several other events.
Women’s cricket begins on September 18 with India facing Japan in the quarter-final stage. India’s men’s cricket team enters the competition later, with the quarter-finals scheduled for September 28 and the semi-finals on October 1, subject to qualification.
Athletics will be one of India’s biggest medal opportunities, with competition running from September 24 to 29. Shooting, wrestling, boxing, rowing, weightlifting, archery and badminton will also provide several chances for podium finishes.
India’s leading weightlifting hopes include Mirabai Chanu, Gyaneshwari Yadav, Seram Nirupama Devi and Harjinder Kaur. Hockey will feature both Indian teams, while kabaddi, squash, table tennis and volleyball will add to the team-sport action.
The final days will bring medal contests in athletics, archery, boxing, cricket, hockey, golf, tennis, wrestling and other disciplines. The men’s cricket final or bronze-medal match is scheduled for October 3, while the Games will also conclude with several wrestling, tennis, hockey and rugby sevens medal events.
