Officials reported issues involving the storage and holding temperatures of hot and cold food, along with improper thawing and cooling practices.
Inspectors also identified inadequate drainage and sanitation problems affecting kitchen equipment and other food-handling areas. The findings prompted regulatory action against the establishment as authorities stepped up inspections across the state.
The enforcement drive is also targeting older and well-known food establishments, festival sweet manufacturers and pharmaceutical suppliers to ensure compliance with prescribed safety and quality standards.
The action comes as Maharashtra authorities intensify scrutiny of businesses involved in food preparation and other regulated activities. Establishments found violating safety requirements can face measures including notices, penalties and suspension of licences, depending on the nature of the violations.
Officials have emphasised the need for food businesses to maintain proper hygiene, temperature control, sanitation and food-handling procedures to protect consumers.
