National Stock Exchange of India (NSE) shares made their market debut on the BSE at Rs 1,800 on Thursday, a 0.84% premium over the IPO issue price of Rs 1,785. The stock later climbed to a high of Rs 1,878, gaining 5.2% from the issue price.


At the latest update, NSE shares were trading at Rs 1,861.50, up 3.42% from the listing price and 4.29% above the IPO issue price. Trading volume stood at 343.80 lakh shares, while turnover reached Rs 6,327.48 crore.

The Rs 22,561.57-crore IPO was an offer for sale involving 12.64 crore shares. The issue was open from September 17 to September 21 and had a price band of Rs 1,700-1,785 per share, with a lot size of eight shares.

The IPO received strong demand, with overall subscription reaching 5.71 times. The retail portion was subscribed 1.39 times, while the QIB and NII categories recorded subscriptions of 12.68 times and 6.55 times respectively.

At Rs 1,861.50, NSE’s market capitalisation stood at around Rs 4.60 lakh crore, according to the market data cited in the report.

Market analysts noted NSE’s strong position in India’s capital markets but also highlighted its dependence on trading activity. Nearly 79% of its revenue is linked to trading volumes, making earnings sensitive to market cycles and regulatory changes.
