Operation Ashdar: Pakistani Jaish Terrorist Killed in Doda, M4 Rifle Recovered
Security forces recovered the remains of Pakistani terrorist Yasir and a night-enabled M4 carbine after an operation in Jammu and Kashmir’s Doda.
Security forces have recovered the remains of a Pakistani terrorist identified as Yasir along with a night-enabled M4 carbine during Operation Ashdar in Jammu and Kashmir’s Doda district. The recovery was carried out by a joint team of the Special Operations Group Doda, Rashtriya Rifles and CRPF.
Jammu and Kashmir Police had earlier identified Yasir as a Pakistani national associated with the banned Jaish-e-Mohammed outfit. He was neutralised during the operation, with authorities now investigating his activities and possible local links in the region.
The recovery comes as security forces intensify intelligence-based surveillance and coordinated anti-terror operations across Jammu and Kashmir. Officials said the action represents another setback for foreign terrorist networks seeking to disrupt peace in the Union Territory.
Meanwhile, an anti-terror operation is underway in the upper reaches of Seoj Dhar in Bhaderwah, Doda, following suspected terrorist movement.
Earlier, on September 4, the Indian Army had also neutralised a terrorist during Operation Ashdar in Budgam district. Security forces recovered an AK rifle and other war-like equipment during the search operation in Ashdar Gali.
The Army, Jammu and Kashmir Police and CRPF had launched the joint operation following specific intelligence inputs. Security forces continue to maintain heightened surveillance in areas considered vulnerable to terrorist activity.
