Pakistan Army Signs Drone MoU With US Firm Linked to Trump Family Investment
US drone company Powerus has signed an MoU with the Pakistan Army involving an initial unmanned aerial systems order as the firm prepares for a Trump-linked merger.
US drone company Powerus has signed a memorandum of understanding with the Pakistan Army that includes an initial order related to unmanned aerial systems, according to the company’s co-founder Brett Velicovich. Details of the order, including its value, have not been disclosed because of security and confidentiality concerns.
The agreement has not previously been reported and comes as Powerus prepares to merge with publicly traded Aureus Greenway Holdings, a company backed by US President Donald Trump’s sons, Donald Trump Jr and Eric Trump. The merger is expected to be completed in early October.
US regulatory filings show that Trump Jr and Eric Trump hold a stake in Aureus through American Ventures, which is expected to have a 9.9% beneficial ownership in the combined company following the merger.
Pakistan’s military confirmed that a Powerus delegation led by Velicovich met Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir to discuss defence procurement, production and long-term capacity building, although its statement did not mention the MoU.
Powerus said it is exploring a potential technology partnership with Pakistan and could consider manufacturing technology there. Company executives said the Trump family’s investment does not influence business decisions or procurement contracts.
A spokesperson for Trump Jr said he had no role in Powerus operations or the negotiation and execution of the Pakistan agreement. The White House also said there were no conflicts of interest.
