Is Ajay Devgn the Mysterious Lion on Farah Khan’s Reality Show The 50? New Promo Sparks Buzz

Speculation around the identity of the mysterious “Lion” on upcoming reality show The 50 has intensified after a new promotional video featured Ajay Devgn, leaving fans guessing whether the actor is secretly part of the show’s core twist.

Hosted by filmmaker and choreographer Farah Khan, The 50 revolves around a powerful unseen authority symbolised by a Lion, believed to control rules, strategy shifts and eliminations. The recently released promo shows Ajay Devgn reacting humorously to repeated calls asking if he is the Lion of the show.

In the clip, Ajay dismisses the rumours with his trademark wit, joking that while he enjoys harmless pranks, handling a show involving fifty contestants would be far from his comfort zone. He playfully clarifies that he is a “lion in uniform,” referencing his iconic on-screen persona, and firmly denies being part of the show’s central mystery.

Despite his denial, the promo has done exactly what it was meant to — spark curiosity. Viewers remain divided on whether Ajay’s appearance is merely a marketing move or a cleverly placed red herring ahead of the show’s launch.

Inspired by the French reality format Les Cinquante, The 50 brings together contestants from varied backgrounds in a grand setting where alliances, mind games and shifting power dynamics take precedence over conventional eliminations. Unlike traditional reality shows, the Lion acts as an omnipresent force, influencing the game from behind the scenes.

The 50 is set to premiere on Colors TV and stream on Jio Hotstar from February 1, with several well-known faces already confirmed as contestants. Whether Ajay Devgn’s appearance is just promotional flair or part of a bigger reveal remains to be seen — but for now, the Lion’s true identity continues to fuel online buzz.
