Whenever Yuvraj Singh, Virender Sehwag and Mohammad Kaif come together, nostalgia is guaranteed — but so is sharp humour.
The former India cricketers, who were key members of India national cricket team during its fearless early-2000s era under Sourav Ganguly, were seen indulging in light-hearted banter during a forthcoming episode of The Great Indian Kapil Show.
Taking a playful dig at his former teammates’ wealth, Kaif quipped that if Yuvraj and Sehwag were to “brush shoulders, ₹5–6 crore would fall out,” adding that he was “much poorer” than them. The comment, made in jest, drew laughter and set the tone for a nostalgic yet humorous reunion.
Yuvraj was quick to return the favour, jokingly pointing at Kaif’s footwear and asking what brand he was wearing. Kaif’s reply — “Gucci” — only added to the crowd-pleasing exchange.
Legends on and off the field
While the banter stole the spotlight, the trio’s on-field legacy remains unmatched. Kaif and Yuvraj were central to India’s famous 2002 NatWest Trophy final victory at Lord’s, producing a match-winning partnership that remains etched in Indian cricket folklore. Sehwag and Yuvraj later went on to win the ICC T20 World Cup and the ICC Cricket World Cup, cementing their legendary status.
With the advent of the Indian Premier League and lucrative central contracts, Yuvraj and Sehwag amassed significant wealth in their post-2008 careers. Public estimates place Yuvraj’s net worth at around ₹291 crore and Sehwag’s at approximately ₹286 crore, while Kaif’s finances have largely remained private. As fans await the full episode, the reunion proves once again that while careers may diverge, camaraderie — and comedy — never fades.
