PV Sindhu Supports Lakshya Sen After All England Final Loss

Indian badminton star PV Sindhu expressed support for fellow shuttler Lakshya Sen following his defeat in the men’s singles final of the All England Open Badminton Championships.

Lakshya Sen finished runner-up after losing to Lin Chun‑yi in a closely fought match. The final score read 21-15, 22-20 in favour of the Taiwanese player.

Sindhu Highlights Physical Demands of Tournament

Reacting to the result on social media, Sindhu praised Lakshya’s effort and pointed to the physical strain of playing a major final soon after a demanding semifinal.

She noted that returning to play a title match within 24 hours of an intense previous match can be extremely challenging for athletes. Sindhu described the schedule as physically demanding and said such matches can leave players fatigued.

Lakshya’s Strong Run in the Tournament

Despite the loss in the final, Lakshya Sen had an impressive run during the tournament. Earlier in the competition, he defeated strong opponents including Shi Yuqi and Li Shifeng.

Sindhu acknowledged his performance, stating that the results reflected the high level at which the Indian shuttler has been competing.

Experience From Sindhu’s Own Career

Sindhu also referred to a similar experience from her own career during the 2021 All England Open, when she had to play consecutive high-intensity matches after a long quarterfinal.

According to her, such situations can be physically draining, especially when players have little recovery time between matches.

Lin Chun-yi’s Performance in the Final

Lin Chun-yi secured the title with a strong attacking display. While Lakshya showed resilience and attempted a comeback in the second game, the Taiwanese player maintained pressure during key moments of the match.

The win marked a significant achievement for Lin, whose decisive attacking style proved effective in the final.

Lakshya Sen’s Second All England Final

This was Lakshya Sen’s second appearance in the All England Open final. He had previously reached the championship match in 2022, where he finished runner-up to Viktor Axelsen.

Although he fell short of the title once again, the Indian shuttler’s performance throughout the tournament highlighted his growing consistency at the international level.
