The Bollywood comedy Rahu Ketu, starring Varun Sharma and Pulkit Samrat, sets out to deliver a loud, eccentric entertainer but ends up overwhelmed by its own chaos.
Positioned as a fast-paced comedy driven by astrological themes and slapstick humour, the film relies heavily on constant background noise, exaggerated performances and overused punchlines. While both lead actors bring their familiar comic timing to the screen, the screenplay leaves little room for subtlety or emotional grounding.
The narrative jumps rapidly between gags, often sacrificing coherence for volume. Instead of allowing jokes to land naturally, the film frequently resorts to shouting matches, abrupt tonal shifts and predictable humour. As a result, moments that could have been genuinely funny are drowned out by excessive theatrics.
Varun Sharma leans into his trademark high-energy persona, while Pulkit Samrat attempts to balance chaos with restraint. However, the lack of a strong supporting script limits their impact. The film’s pacing further adds to the problem, offering little breathing space between scenes.
Technically, the film remains serviceable, but the absence of a clear comedic rhythm makes it difficult to stay engaged. Rahu Ketu may appeal to viewers who enjoy loud, no-holds-barred humour, but for many, the noise outweighs the laughs.
