Kashmiri Pandit employees in Jammu and Kashmir are facing renewed security concerns after a purported threat poster circulated online, allegedly naming employees and exposing sensitive personal information, including addresses, phone numbers and vehicle details.
The PM Package Employees Forum Kashmir has written to the Jammu and Kashmir Chief Secretary, seeking enhanced security for Kashmiri Pandit employees working in the Valley. The forum also demanded a thorough investigation to verify the authenticity of the threat and identify those responsible for circulating it. Authorities have said the poster’s authenticity is yet to be verified by police and security agencies.
Security arrangements have reportedly been strengthened, with forces increasing vigilance and carrying out area domination in sensitive locations, particularly in parts of Shopian. The fresh threat has raised concerns among migrant employees and their families, especially following previous targeted attacks.
Despite the renewed fear, several Kashmiri Pandits have said they will not be intimidated or forced to leave their homeland. Employees have urged authorities to provide stronger protection at workplaces, residential areas and along transit routes.
The Jammu and Kashmir administration has assured affected employees that security concerns are being addressed. Authorities continue to monitor the situation while verification and further action remain underway.
