CGPSC Postpones State Service 2025 Interviews Four Days Before Start
CGPSC has postponed document verification and interviews for the State Service Examination 2025, with fresh dates to be announced later.
The Chhattisgarh Public Service Commission (CGPSC) has postponed document verification and interviews for the State Service Examination 2025, just four days before the process was scheduled to begin. In a notice issued on Wednesday, the commission cited “unavoidable circumstances” and said revised dates would be announced on its official website.
The recruitment process covers 265 posts across 20 departments of the Chhattisgarh government. Document verification and interviews were originally scheduled from September 20 to October 1. Candidates have been advised to monitor the commission’s website for further updates.
The postponement comes amid demands from the Congress for greater transparency in the evaluation and shortlisting process. Former Chhattisgarh chief minister Bhupesh Baghel had called for the interviews to be deferred until concerns raised by candidates were addressed.
Among the demands were publication of answer sheets, free copies of evaluated sheets for candidates, disclosure of evaluation criteria and model answers, re-evaluation provisions and adherence to a 1:3 shortlisting ratio for interviews.
The Congress has alleged discrepancies in evaluation and questioned the number of candidates shortlisted. The ruling BJP has rejected the allegations, saying minimum qualifying marks are prescribed and answer sheets are evaluated by subject experts while candidates’ identities remain confidential.
The CGPSC has not provided a specific reason for the postponement beyond citing unavoidable circumstances.
