DUSU Elections 2026: ABVP and NSUI Announce Candidate Panels
ABVP and NSUI have announced their four-member panels for the DUSU 2026-27 elections, with voting scheduled for September 18.
The Delhi University Students’ Union (DUSU) elections for 2026-27 are set for a key contest between the Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) and the National Students’ Union of India (NSUI), with both organisations announcing their four-member panels.
ABVP has named Yash Dabas for president, Ishu Maurya for vice president, Riya Chhawadi for secretary and Lakshyaraj Singh for joint secretary. The panel includes candidates with backgrounds in academics, student activities and sports.
NSUI has fielded Vijay Shankar Meena for president, Veer Chhatrath for vice president, Namrata Chaudhary for secretary and Gopal Chaudhary for joint secretary. The organisation said its campaign would focus on student interests and improving campus life.
The candidate announcements follow the preliminary scrutiny of nomination papers. A total of 25 candidates have been provisionally cleared for the president’s post, while 20 candidates are in the vice-president race. The secretary and joint secretary posts have 24 and 19 provisionally approved candidates, respectively.
DUSU polling will take place on September 18. Students attending day classes can vote between 8:30 am and 1 pm, while evening-class students will vote from 3 pm to 7:30 pm. Vote counting is scheduled for September 19.
With the major student organisations finalising their panels, campaigning is expected to focus on student concerns, campus issues and their respective priorities ahead of polling.
