Katrina Kaif discusses how pregnancy changed her approach to beauty, skincare and self-care as she faces scrutiny over her post-pregnancy appearance.
Katrina Kaif has opened up about how pregnancy and motherhood changed her relationship with beauty, health and self-care. Her comments come amid scrutiny and trolling over her appearance following the birth of her son, Vihaan, with Vicky Kaushal.
Speaking to The Hollywood Reporter India, Kaif said her idea of looking her best has shifted from meeting conventional beauty standards to feeling healthy and confident. Reflecting on her early years in modelling and acting, she recalled an industry where rigid ideas of beauty were common.
For Kaif, self-care now involves looking after her overall well-being. She spoke about eating a balanced diet, staying active, managing inflammation and practising meditation. She also highlighted simple habits such as getting natural light in the morning and avoiding screens during the first hour of the day.
According to the actor, feeling healthy internally eventually reflects on the outside, including the skin. Her comments offer a different perspective on postpartum changes, particularly at a time when celebrities are often expected to return to their pre-pregnancy appearance almost instantly.
Kaif has not directly responded to the trolling surrounding her post-pregnancy appearance. However, her focus on health and confidence rather than perfection adds to the ongoing conversation around unrealistic beauty expectations placed on women after childbirth.
She is currently also focused on expanding her makeup brand, Kay Beauty, and has been away from films since *Merry Christmas*, which released in 2024.
