Mohammad Rizwan and Imam-ul-Haq were reportedly questioned for nearly four hours by Pakistan’s cybercrime agency over alleged dressing-room leaks.
Pakistan cricketers Mohammad Rizwan and Imam-ul-Haq were reportedly questioned for nearly four hours by the National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency (NCCIA) in Lahore as part of an inquiry into alleged dressing-room leaks during the Test series against England.
The investigation follows a complaint filed by the Pakistan Cricket Board. The exact nature of the alleged leaks has not been disclosed, while the NCCIA has yet to make public details of its probe. The players have reportedly agreed to forensic examinations of their phones, which were handed over to the agency by Pakistan’s team security manager.
Both Rizwan and Imam have also sought additional time to provide written responses to the agency’s questions. The PCB confirmed that the cybercrime agency was investigating alleged leaks but declined to comment further while the inquiry remains ongoing.
The development comes after both players, along with five others and two support staff members, were sent home from England following Pakistan’s defeats in the first two Tests. The controversy has also affected their domestic commitments, with Rizwan and Imam set to miss the Presidents Cup after failing to complete mandatory fitness tests.
Pakistan’s off-field turmoil has coincided with a difficult tour of England, where the team suffered heavy defeats at the start of the series. The NCCIA investigation has now added another serious dimension to the growing crisis surrounding Pakistan cricket.
