Tripura Student Alleges Assault in Gurugram

A 19-year-old student from Tripura has alleged that she was severely assaulted by her live-in partner at a rented accommodation in Gurugram’s Sector 69.

Allegations by Family

According to the victim’s mother, her daughter called her on the night of February 16, claiming she was in danger.

In statements to the media, the mother alleged that the accused had confined and assaulted her daughter for several days. She further claimed that her daughter had been physically harmed and threatened.

The victim had reportedly moved to Gurugram to pursue studies in biotechnology.

Claims by Lawyer

The victim’s lawyer also made serious allegations regarding the nature of the assault. She claimed that the student had been subjected to repeated physical violence.

The lawyer further alleged that the medical examination confirmed sexual assault. She questioned the sections invoked in the First Information Report (FIR), stating that more serious charges should be considered.
