Hanuman Ansh Producer Says Bollywood Apologised After Success
Hanuman Ansh co-producer Anupriya Nagar says producers who once rejected the small-budget film later apologised after its reported box-office success.
Hanuman Ansh co-producer Anupriya Nagar has said that several Bollywood producers who initially declined to invest in the film later contacted the team and apologised after its strong box-office performance. The 21-year-old producer said the project struggled to attract investors during post-production because it was a small-budget film featuring a first-time director and relatively new actors.
According to Anupriya, many people in the industry expected the film to have limited impact and did not believe in its commercial potential. She said only a handful of people supported the project before its release, while several others chose not to come on board.
The film, reportedly made for less than Rs 2 crore, has earned Rs 331.70 crore gross in India, according to the figures cited in the source. Following its success, Anupriya said producers who had earlier rejected the project reached out to congratulate the team.
She recalled some producers telling her they regretted not joining the film and describing their decision as a mistake. Others reportedly said Hanuman Ansh demonstrated how much a small production could achieve.
Anupriya said she does not blame those who initially refused to invest, noting that the film was a relatively small project. Directed by Vishal Chaturvedi and starring Shobinaw Satyaa, Hanuman Ansh is inspired by the life of Neem Karoli Baba and explores faith, devotion, compassion and selfless service.
