Actor Nani has clarified that the Bengaluru court order concerning The Paradise is aimed at allegedly defamatory and targeted AI-generated or bot-driven content, rather than genuine audience reviews and criticism. Speaking at the film’s pre-release event in Mumbai, Nani said the restriction, as he understood it, was related to automated material being generated and circulated online.
Nani said he had discussed the court order with his team after seeing reports about it. According to him, the concern has grown with the increasing use of AI systems that can generate and repeatedly post content automatically.
The Bengaluru court had granted an interim injunction to the producers of The Paradise on September 19 over specific allegedly false and defamatory posts, comments and URLs. The producers argued that such material could affect the film ahead of its theatrical release.
The court order is limited to the specific content identified in the case and does not prohibit genuine reviews or bona fide criticism of the film. The matter is temporary, with the next hearing scheduled for October 28.
Directed by Srikanth Odela and starring Nani, The Paradise is scheduled to release in theatres on September 24, with special premieres in select cities on September 23.
So, viewers can still say what they think about the film—the internet review section remains very much open for business.
