NEET SS 2025 Cut-Off Reduced to 30th Percentile by NBEMS
NBEMS has reduced the NEET SS 2025 qualifying percentile from 50th to 30th, allowing more candidates to participate in counselling for vacant super-speciality seats.
The National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences (NBEMS) has reduced the NEET SS 2025 qualifying percentile from 50th to 30th percentile, making more candidates eligible for the ongoing counselling process. The revised qualifying criteria were announced on September 22, 2026, following developments related to the Supreme Court and the NEET SS counselling process.
Candidates who scored at least the 30th percentile in their respective NEET SS 2025 question paper groups will now be considered qualified. NBEMS has shared the revised result with the Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) under the Directorate General of Health Services.
The change follows the Centre’s decision after the Supreme Court’s September 17 order concerning NEET SS counselling. The Centre had informed the court that 1,857 super-speciality seats remained vacant after the second counselling round and agreed to reduce the qualifying percentile for a proposed Special Stray Vacancy Round.
The revised qualifying marks out of 600 range from 175 for the Medical group to 325 for Obstetrics and Gynaecology. Other cut-offs include 254 for Critical Care Medicine, 247 for ENT, 180 for Medical Oncology, 256 for Orthopaedics, 231 for Paediatrics and 315 for Radiodiagnosis.
NBEMS clarified that the reduced qualifying percentile will not affect the group-specific ranks declared on January 23, 2026, and no fresh scorecards will be issued. Candidate credentials will continue to be verified during admission.
