The Paradise Gets Bengaluru Court Injunction Ahead of Release
Nani-starrer The Paradise has secured interim court protection against specifically identified allegedly defamatory online content ahead of its September 24 release.
Nani-starrer The Paradise has received interim legal protection from a Bengaluru court against the circulation of specifically identified online content that the film’s producers alleged was false and defamatory. The order comes just days before the film’s worldwide theatrical release on September 24.
The order was passed on September 19 by the Additional City Civil and Sessions Judge, Bengaluru, after producer Sri Lakshmi Venkateshwara Cinemas LLP approached the court seeking protection against the allegedly defamatory posts, comments and URLs.
According to the producer’s submissions, the disputed content began circulating on social media after the film’s teaser was released on August 6. The production house argued that the material went beyond fair criticism and could cause financial and reputational harm ahead of the release.
After examining the submissions, the court found a prima facie case and restrained the defendants and those acting through them from hosting, publishing, transmitting, reproducing or making available the specifically identified content listed in the case.
Importantly, the injunction does not prohibit genuine reviews or bona fide criticism of The Paradise. It is limited to the URLs and material specifically identified in the producer’s case and remains effective only until the next hearing.
The development follows a similar Bengaluru court order involving Yash-starrer Toxic ahead of its release. The Paradise, directed by Srikanth Odela and starring Nani, is scheduled to release worldwide on September 24, with the matter listed for its next hearing on October 28, 2026.
