CBSE Class 10 English 2026 Paper Called Easy

The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) conducted the Class 10 English Language and Literature exam on February 21 from 10:30 AM to 1:30 PM.

After the exam concluded, the question paper PDF was made available for students, teachers and parents to review. The document helps candidates analyse the exam pattern, difficulty level and marks distribution.

Over 25 Lakh Students Appeared

For the 2026 board examinations, a total of 25,08,319 Class 10 students appeared across 8,075 centres nationwide. The exams covered 83 subjects.

Among the candidates, 14,08,546 were boys and 10,99,773 were girls. The examination was conducted in a single shift under standard CBSE guidelines.

Students Call Paper Easy

Initial reactions gathered from students of Government Boys Senior Secondary School, Tukhmirpur, indicated that the English paper was manageable.

One student said the exam was easier compared to Mathematics, especially the Basic Maths paper, which was considered tougher.

Another student noted that most questions were directly based on NCERT textbooks. According to feedback, the reading passages were simple and easy to understand.

However, some students mentioned that a few questions in the grammar section, particularly reported speech, required careful attention.

Exam Pattern and Structure

As per the paper review, the question paper followed the prescribed CBSE pattern. It included sections on:

• Reading comprehension

• Writing skills

• Grammar

• Literature from NCERT textbooks

Many of the questions were competency-based but predictable for students who had prepared thoroughly from NCERT books and sample papers.

The reading section was described as scoring, while writing tasks followed standard formats. Literature questions focused on themes, character analysis and textual interpretation.
