Dhurandhar 2 Sells 87,000 Tickets, ₹8 Cr in Advance Bookings

Advance bookings for Dhurandhar: The Revenge, also known as Dhurandhar 2, have started on a strong note. The film, starring Ranveer Singh and directed by Aditya Dhar, has reportedly crossed ₹8 crore in paid premiere ticket sales.

The film is scheduled to release in theatres on March 19, with special paid preview shows planned a day earlier on March 18.

Strong Ticket Sales in First 24 Hours

According to ticketing data from the platform BookMyShow, the film sold over 87,000 tickets within the first 24 hours of advance bookings opening.

Trade analyst Taran Adarsh noted that the film recorded an estimated 7,500 ticket sales per hour shortly after bookings began.

While the figure is not among the highest hourly sales for Bollywood releases, analysts say the early response is encouraging and could grow closer to the release date.

Paid Premieres Cross ₹8 Crore

According to trade website Sacnilk, the film generated around ₹4 crore in ticket sales globally within the first two hours after bookings opened.

Of this, approximately ₹2.5 crore came from major multiplex chains including PVR Cinemas, INOX Leisure Limited, and Cinepolis India, where around 35,000 tickets were sold.

So far, paid premiere bookings have crossed ₹8.06 crore, with more than ₹7 crore coming from the Hindi version alone.

Advance bookings for dubbed versions have also begun, with the Telugu version earning over ₹5 lakh, while the Tamil, Malayalam and Kannada versions have reported smaller early sales.

Premium Ticket Pricing Introduced

Multiplexes have introduced a new premium category called “Super Blockbuster Plus” for preview shows. In some multiplexes in the Delhi-NCR region, ticket prices reportedly reached ₹2,500 for early screenings.

Industry observers say premium pricing for preview shows is becoming increasingly common for high-profile releases.

Expectations High After First Film’s Success

The original Dhurandhar performed strongly at the box office. The film opened with ₹28 crore in India and collected ₹103 crore during its opening weekend.

By the end of its theatrical run, the film reportedly earned ₹838.5 crore in India and ₹1,303.35 crore worldwide.

The sequel will see returning cast members including Sara Arjun, Arjun Rampal, Sanjay Dutt and Rakesh Bedi.

With more than a week remaining before release, trade analysts expect advance booking numbers to continue rising as the premiere date approaches.
