Producer Antony Perumbavoor has confirmed that Drishyam 4 will be made, continuing the popular Mohanlal-led thriller franchise. The announcement came after the commercial success of Drishyam 3, which was released in theatres on May 21, 2026.
Speaking at the Mazhavil Manorama Awards, Antony Perumbavoor confirmed that the fourth instalment is on the way, renewing excitement among fans about the future of Georgekutty’s story. Drishyam 3 became a major box-office success, crossing the Rs 100-crore mark within days of its theatrical release, although audience reactions to the film were mixed.
The franchise began with director Jeethu Joseph’s 2013 Malayalam thriller Drishyam. The film introduced Mohanlal as Georgekutty, an ordinary family man who goes to extraordinary lengths to protect his family after a life-changing incident.
The success of the original led to Drishyam 2, which initially premiered on an OTT platform before later receiving a theatrical release. The franchise expanded further with Drishyam 3, and the confirmation of a fourth film now ensures that Georgekutty’s journey will continue.
Jeethu Joseph had previously hinted at the possibility of Drishyam 4, revealing that Antony Perumbavoor had encouraged him to continue developing the story. However, the director has also said he does not want to rush another sequel simply because of the franchise’s box-office success.
With Drishyam 4 now officially confirmed, attention will turn to how Jeethu Joseph develops the next chapter and whether Mohanlal will once again return as Georgekutty.
