Actor Himanshi Khurana has responded strongly to recent remarks by her former boyfriend Asim Riaz, saying she never claimed that she was forcibly converted during their relationship. In a detailed statement on X, the former Bigg Boss 13 contestant said the “forceful conversion” narrative was created by people and the media.
Himanshi said she had largely remained silent about her personal experiences but decided to speak after facing what she described as repeated insults and questions about her health and struggles.
She said she was prepared to present evidence related to the controversy, including CCTV footage and recordings. Himanshi also referred to what she described as violence she had suffered, saying she would no longer remain silent to protect someone else’s public image.
The controversy escalated after Asim Riaz denied ever asking Himanshi to change her religion. In a social media post, Asim said religion should not be used as a weapon in personal disputes and rejected allegations linking him to any attempt at religious conversion.
The dispute began after Himanshi appeared on Paras Chhabra’s podcast and discussed reports that she had considered adopting another religion during her relationship with Asim. She clarified that she did not describe the situation as a conversion, saying he had spoken to her about his religious beliefs.
Himanshi Khurana and Asim Riaz announced their separation in December 2023 after nearly four years together, citing their different religious beliefs as a reason for ending the relationship.
