The India national cricket team has reportedly changed its hotel in Ahmedabad ahead of the ICC Men's T20 World Cup final against New Zealand national cricket team, according to media reports.

The decision has drawn attention as India prepares for the crucial title clash at the Narendra Modi Stadium, one of the largest cricket venues in the world.

Report Links Change to Previous Results

According to a report cited by news agency PTI, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) arranged for the team to stay at a different hotel before the final.

While officials have not publicly confirmed the reason, the report suggested the move may be linked to the team’s previous defeats in Ahmedabad.

India lost the 2023 ICC Cricket World Cup Final against Australia national cricket team at the same venue. Earlier in the current tournament, India also suffered a heavy defeat against South Africa national cricket team during the Super 8 stage.

Training Schedule Adjusted Earlier

Earlier in the tournament, the Indian team had also reportedly delayed a practice session at Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai due to a lunar eclipse on March 3.

In some cultural traditions, activities such as travel or outdoor work are sometimes postponed during an eclipse.

India went on to win their semifinal match against England national cricket team, defending a target of 253 runs.
