Iranian state television has reportedly aired a video targeting Barron Trump, the 20-year-old son of US President Donald Trump, claiming that his movements had been monitored and that a $10 million bounty had been offered against him.
The roughly three-minute programme was broadcast on Channel 3 and circulated by media outlets linked to Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, according to reports. The claims made in the broadcast, including the alleged bounty, could not be independently verified.
Reports said the video contained alleged details about Barron’s movements, security arrangements and personal activities. It also made claims about how information concerning him had supposedly been gathered. The broadcast used surveillance-style graphics and other material to portray what it described as monitoring of the US President’s son.
The alleged campaign follows earlier threats and videos targeting Trump and members of his family. In July, an IRGC-linked media outlet reportedly released material focusing on First Lady Melania Trump’s movements and alleged security vulnerabilities.
Iranian media has also repeatedly issued threats against Donald Trump. Tensions between Washington and Tehran have remained high since the 2020 US drone strike that killed Iranian military commander Qassem Soleimani.
According to the reports, rhetoric intensified further following the reported killing of Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei in US-Israeli strikes earlier this year. The latest broadcast adds to growing concerns over threats directed at Trump and his family.
