DUSU Elections 2026: ABVP Candidate Yash Dabas Faces Marksheet Row
Allegations over ABVP presidential candidate Yash Dabas’ academic record have surfaced online ahead of the September 18 DUSU elections, with ABVP calling them a smear campaign.
Allegations concerning the academic record of Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) presidential candidate Yash Dabas have surfaced online ahead of the Delhi University Students’ Union (DUSU) elections. A purported marksheet was circulated on social media shortly after the final provisional nomination list was released.
The authenticity of the document has not been independently established. The controversy comes as student organisations step up campaigning for the September 18 DUSU elections, with results expected on September 19.
ABVP has rejected the allegations, describing them as a smear campaign intended to damage Dabas’ standing ahead of polling. The organisation said students would assess candidates based on their work, record and commitment to the university.
Dabas is contesting the president’s post for ABVP against National Students’ Union of India (NSUI) candidate Vijay Shankar Meena. The AISA-SFI alliance has also nominated Ananya Raturi for the presidential contest.
NSUI has fielded Vijay Shankar Meena for president, Vir Chatrath for vice president, Namrata Choudhary for secretary and Gopal Choudhary for joint secretary. The AISA-SFI alliance has nominated Ananya Raturi for president, Akshat Shikhar for vice president, Stanzin Deskyong for secretary and B Parijaat for joint secretary.
With the major student groups announcing their panels, the DUSU campaign is expected to focus on issues including campus infrastructure, student welfare, representation and safety. The allegations surrounding Dabas have added another point of contention as candidates prepare for the September 18 vote.
