Producer Pranay Reddy Vanga has challenged film critics ahead of the release of Spirit, starring Prabhas and Triptii Dimri. His remarks came while discussing his latest production Romanchakam, which received mixed reviews after its theatrical release.
Speaking about the criticism faced by films, Pranay said that critics should try to “kill” Spirit with their reviews when it reaches theatres. He also highlighted the challenges involved in bringing a director’s vision to the screen and questioned how easily films are judged without understanding the production process.
Spirit, directed by Sandeep Reddy Vanga, marks Prabhas’ first collaboration with the filmmaker. The action drama is expected to feature Prabhas as a powerful police officer, with Triptii Dimri as the female lead. Vivek Oberoi and Prakash Raj are also part of the cast.
The film has generated considerable attention over its casting. Deepika Padukone was initially attached to the project before Triptii joined the film. Pranay had previously cited remuneration and scheduling issues while discussing the change in the lead cast and said the reported financial demands did not fit the film’s budget.
Sandeep Reddy Vanga has also indicated that the film’s intense and violent content could lead to an adult certification.
Spirit is scheduled for a theatrical release on March 5, 2027, and anticipation around the film continues to build as production and casting developments remain in focus.
