Haiwaan Box Office Collection Day 1: Akshay-Saif Film Earns Rs 3 Crore
Akshay Kumar and Saif Ali Khan’s Haiwaan opened with an estimated Rs 3 crore nett in India, facing competition from Mirzapur: The Movie and Hanuman Ansh.
Akshay Kumar and Saif Ali Khan’s crime thriller Haiwaan opened to an estimated Rs 3 crore nett in India on September 11, according to box-office tracking data. Directed by Priyadarshan, the film recorded modest occupancy despite featuring the two actors together on screen after 17 years.
Haiwaan registered an overall occupancy of around 11% across its shows on the opening day. Morning shows recorded roughly 5% occupancy, while afternoon and evening screenings crossed 12%. Night shows performed better, reaching more than 18%.
The film’s estimated India gross stood at around Rs 3.60 crore, while overseas earnings were estimated at approximately Rs 1 crore, taking its worldwide gross to about Rs 4.60 crore after Day 1.
The opening has come amid strong competition from other releases. Hanuman Ansh continued its impressive theatrical run, while Mirzapur: The Movie also maintained momentum during its second week.
Haiwaan is a Hindi adaptation of Priyadarshan’s 2016 Malayalam thriller Oppam. The film features Boman Irani, Shriya Pilgaonkar and Saiyami Kher in important roles, along with a cameo by Mohanlal.
The movie also marks veteran actor Asrani’s final film appearance following his death in 2025. With the opening day showing limited momentum, the film’s weekend performance will be important in determining whether it can recover at the box office.
