NCERT Class 9 New Textbooks 2026-27: Maths Out, Social Science Soon
NCERT has started releasing revised Class 9 textbooks for 2026-27, with Mathematics available now and Social Science scheduled for September 30.
NCERT has begun rolling out revised Class 9 textbooks for the 2026-27 academic session, with the new Mathematics textbook already available and the Social Science book scheduled for release on September 30.
The revised Mathematics textbook, Ganita Manjari – Part 2, went on sale on September 21. Students, teachers, parents and schools can purchase it through NCERT-authorised sales channels, including NCERT sales counters, its official website and Amazon.
The new Social Science textbook, Understanding Society: India & Beyond – Part 2, will be available from September 30. The books are part of the phased curriculum revision being implemented in line with the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 and the National Curriculum Framework for School Education (NCF-SE) 2023.
NCERT said the revised textbooks have been designed to support the updated curricular approach and evolving learning requirements of students. The council has also advised schools and students to obtain the prescribed editions through authorised channels.
The rollout is part of NCERT’s broader plan to introduce updated learning material in phases for different classes and subjects. For Class 9 students, Mathematics is already getting the textbook refresh, while Social Science joins the new-book lineup on September 30.
