Delhi Café Murder: Accused Posts Confession Video After Maujpur Shooting, Police Probe Underway

A late-night shooting inside a café in Delhi has left a 24-year-old man dead, with the accused allegedly posting a confession video on social media hours after the incident, admitting to the killing and citing a personal dispute.

The incident occurred on Friday night at a café in the Maujpur area, where gunfire was reported around 10:30 pm. Police teams reached the spot soon after receiving information and found the victim with multiple gunshot wounds. He was declared dead at a hospital.

Shortly after the shooting, a video surfaced online in which the accused is seen calmly admitting to the murder, claiming it was an act of personal revenge. In the clip, recorded against a dark background, the accused denies any involvement of his family members and rules out a financial motive. The video, uploaded on Instagram, was later deleted.

According to preliminary accounts from the victim’s family, the deceased was hit by three bullets — one in the head and two in the chest — and showed signs of a possible struggle. The victim has been identified as Faizan, also known as Fazzi, a resident of the Welcome area in north-east Delhi.

Police officials said the authenticity of the confession video is being verified and that it is being examined as part of the investigation. Statements from witnesses, CCTV footage from the café and nearby locations, and forensic evidence are also being reviewed.

While the accused has claimed the killing stemmed from an old personal grudge, the victim’s family has alleged a possible financial angle and demanded strict action against all those involved. Investigators have stated that all motives and angles remain under examination.

A case has been registered, and further investigation is underway.
