Dhurandhar 2 Release Unchanged Despite Toxic Delay

Yash’s Toxic release delayed to June due to Middle East tensions, while Ranveer Singh’s Dhurandhar 2 remains scheduled for March 19.

Dhurandhar 2 Release Unchanged Despite Toxic Delay

The upcoming Kannada film “Toxic,” starring Yash, has been postponed from its planned March 19 release due to ongoing tensions in the Middle East. However, Ranveer Singh’s film “Dhurandhar: The Revenge” (Dhurandhar 2) will continue with its scheduled release on the same date.

The decision highlights how global developments can influence film release strategies, especially when international markets are involved.

Toxic Postponed Amid Regional Uncertainty

The makers of Toxic, directed by Geetu Mohandas, announced that the film’s release has been moved to June 4.

In a statement shared by the production team, the decision was attributed to uncertainty in the Middle East, a region considered an important overseas market for Indian films.

The statement said the delay was necessary to ensure the film could reach the widest possible audience.

Toxic marks Yash’s return to the big screen after the KGF series and features a cast including Kiara Advani, Nayanthara, Tara Sutaria, Huma Qureshi, and Rukmini Vasanth.

Why Dhurandhar 2 Is Not Affected

Despite the same initial release date, Dhurandhar: The Revenge, directed by Aditya Dhar, will continue with its March 19 theatrical release, according to its producers.

Industry observers note that the film is unlikely to release in several Gulf countries regardless of the ongoing geopolitical situation.

The first Dhurandhar, released in December 2025, reportedly did not screen in Gulf nations such as UAE, Qatar, Bahrain, Oman, Kuwait, and Saudi Arabia.

Reports suggested that the film’s portrayal of Pakistan-related themes limited its release in those markets.

Because the sequel continues the same storyline, it is also not expected to have a wide release in the Middle East, reducing the impact of current regional tensions on its box-office plans.

Upcoming Promotion and Release Plans

The trailer for Dhurandhar: The Revenge is scheduled to be released on March 7, ahead of the film’s theatrical debut.

The film features Ranveer Singh in the lead role alongside Arjun Rampal, R. Madhavan, and Sanjay Dutt.

After the postponement of Toxic, Dhurandhar 2 is expected to receive a wider solo release across several regions in India.

Competition at the Box Office

While Dhurandhar 2 will not face Toxic on the same date anymore, it may still compete with Pawan Kalyan’s Telugu film “Ustaad Bhagat Singh” in certain markets, particularly in the Telugu-speaking states.

Industry analysts say release timing and regional market considerations often influence such scheduling decisions.
