Khamenei Warns US Amid Rising Iran Tensions

Iran’s Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei on Tuesday issued a strong warning to the United States and President Donald Trump, amid continuing tensions between Tehran and Washington.

In remarks shared on social media platform X, Khamenei said that even the “strongest military force in the world” could be struck in a way that leaves it unable to recover. His comments appeared to be directed at repeated US statements about its military strength.

Warning Over US Warships

Khamenei also referred to the deployment of American warships near Iran. He said that while warships are powerful military assets, there are weapons capable of sending them “to the bottom of the sea.”

The remarks come at a time when the United States has increased military monitoring in the region.

Ongoing Nuclear Dispute

Relations between Iran and the US have remained strained for years, particularly over Iran’s nuclear programme.

The Trump administration has repeatedly warned of possible action to curb Iran’s nuclear ambitions. Washington has also maintained a military presence in the region to monitor developments.

Last year, the US launched what it described as “Operation Midnight Hammer,” aimed at countering Iran’s nuclear programme.

Political Messaging

In his latest statement, Khamenei also responded to comments from President Trump about US efforts over the past four decades regarding Iran’s political system.

According to Khamenei, the US has not been able to eliminate the Islamic Republic in 47 years and would not succeed in doing so in the future.

Heightened Regional Tensions

The exchange of statements reflects the ongoing tensions between Tehran and Washington, particularly as both sides continue to signal strength.

No immediate military escalation has been reported. However, diplomatic observers say the rhetoric underscores the fragile state of relations between the two countries.

The situation continues to be closely watched by regional and global stakeholders.
