Mrunal Thakur Says Wedding ‘On the Cards’ After Dismissing Dhanush Rumours
Mumbai | Nation With Tea
Actor Mrunal Thakur has opened up about her wedding plans, saying marriage is “on the cards” — but only when the right person comes along. Her statement comes days after she dismissed rumours linking her to Dhanush.
“I’ll Announce It Myself,” Says Mrunal
In a recent interaction, Mrunal said that she does plan to get married someday. However, she made it clear that it will happen only when the timing and the partner feel right.
She said that whenever the “right day, right time and right person” enter her life, she will be the first to announce the news on her social media platforms.
Shuts Down Dhanush Wedding Buzz
Recently, speculation surfaced claiming that Mrunal was secretly dating Dhanush and would tie the knot on February 14, Valentine’s Day. The rumours quickly gained traction online.
Addressing the claims earlier, Mrunal dismissed them and said she had never made such statements. She also remarked that it was “scary” how quotes were falsely attributed to her.
Notably, neither Mrunal nor Dhanush have ever officially confirmed being in a relationship. The speculation began last year after Mrunal attended the wrap-up party of Dhanush’s film and later greeted him warmly at a public event, sparking gossip.
“Today People Marry by Choice”
Speaking about how marriage decisions have evolved, Mrunal said that today’s generation prioritises genuine connection rather than societal expectations.
According to her, earlier people may have had different reasons to get married, but now individuals choose marriage because they genuinely want to be with the right person.
Her comments reflect a shift in perspective among young actors who are increasingly vocal about making personal choices on their own terms.
What’s Next for Mrunal?
On the work front, Mrunal will next be seen in Do Deewane Seher Main, opposite Siddhant Chaturvedi. The romantic drama is directed by Ravi Udyawar and is backed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali and Zee Studios.
The film is described as an imperfect love story and is scheduled to release in theatres on February 20.
For now, while wedding bells may be “on the cards,” Mrunal seems focused on her career — and when the time comes, she promises fans they won’t hear the news from rumours.
