Chakda Xpress Delay: Renuka, Director React

Actor Renuka Shahane has expressed disappointment that her film Chakda Xpress, starring Anushka Sharma, has not yet streamed on its planned platform.

Taking to Instagram Stories, Renuka shared a selfie in which she showcased her short hairstyle and spectacles. Along with the photo, she wrote that she loved her look in the film and enjoyed working with director Prosit Roy and the team. She added that she wished the movie had streamed.

Director Calls It a “Real Tragedy”

Director Prosit Roy reshared Renuka’s post and responded with an emotional note. He said that those who watched the film during post-production had told him it stayed with them.

He added that the “real tragedy” was that the film did not get the opportunity to reach a wider audience. According to him, the team gave their full effort to the project but the system did not give it the chance it deserved.

The film’s release status has not been officially clarified by the makers or the streaming platform.

Renuka’s post sparked discussions on social media, especially on Reddit, where users speculated about the future of the film. Some users suggested that the project may have been shelved, though no official confirmation has been issued.

Several comments also criticised lead actor Anushka Sharma’s performance based on the teaser, while others defended the film and pointed out that a movie involves the efforts of many people beyond just its lead star.

Some users speculated about possible disagreements between the production house Clean Slate Filmz and the streaming platform over the final cut or other concerns. However, these remain unverified online claims.
