Pakistan-Backed Terror Module Busted, Three Held in India
Delhi Police’s Special Cell has dismantled a Pakistan-backed terror and gangster module linked to ISI handler Shahzad Bhatti, arresting three men from Madhya Pradesh, Punjab and Uttar Pradesh. The group is suspected of orchestrating the November 25 grenade attack outside the Gurdaspur City Police Station and conducting reconnaissance at several sites for future strikes.

Police said the accused were in direct contact with Bhatti, who operates from Pakistan and is believed to recruit operatives through social media. The arrested individuals were identified as Hargunpreet Singh from Punjab, Vikas Prajapati from Madhya Pradesh, and Asif from Bijnor in Uttar Pradesh. Prajapati was detained on November 26 in Datia, Singh on November 29 in Firozpur, and Asif on November 30. A pistol, ten live cartridges, reconnaissance videos, chats and voice notes were recovered.

Investigators said the trio admitted to their involvement in the Gurdaspur grenade attack, during which one accused allegedly threw the explosive while others provided logistical assistance. The attack was initially mistaken for a tyre burst before forensic assessment confirmed the use of a grenade. Officers stated that the module had surveyed multiple potential targets across states and that details of these locations would be shared with Punjab Police.

Sources revealed that the network was also linked to threats against Anmol Bishnoi, brother of jailed gangster Lawrence Bishnoi. Anmol, currently in NIA custody, had warned the court in late October that Bhatti posed a significant threat to his life. His lawyer submitted another plea on November 28, prompting the agency to confirm intelligence inputs supporting the threat claims. Anmol alleged that Bhatti issued repeated death threats through social media and referenced earlier attacks attributed to his network, including a grenade assault on a Jalandhar YouTuber’s home in March 2025.

Due to escalating security concerns, Anmol asked for heightened protection during court appearances, including a bulletproof escort vehicle, a protective vest and a formal threat assessment. His legal team also wrote to the Delhi Police Commissioner stating that both his family and lawyers feared retaliation from the terror-gangster syndicate.

Delhi Police said the investigation will examine whether the dismantled module had concrete plans to target Anmol. Officials confirmed that more suspects linked to Bhatti’s network have been identified and further arrests are expected. They said the prompt identification of the module’s members helped prevent additional attacks.
