Salim Khan Hospitalised; Salman Visits in Mumbai

Veteran screenwriter Salim Khan has been admitted to Lilavati Hospital in Mumbai, raising concern among fans and members of the film industry.

According to reports citing PTI, the 90-year-old writer is currently in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU). However, the reason for his hospitalisation has not been disclosed, and no official medical update has been issued so far.

Salman Khan Visits Father

Soon after the news emerged, superstar Salman Khan was seen visiting the hospital to be by his father’s side. He was spotted leaving the premises dressed in a black T-shirt and cap, accompanied by security personnel.

The actor did not stop to speak to the media and maintained a low profile as he exited.

Other family members, including Alvira Khan Agnihotri and Aayush Sharma, were also seen arriving at the hospital. Videos of the family’s visits have surfaced on social media platforms.

Following the reports, social media was flooded with messages wishing Salim Khan a speedy recovery. Many fans expressed their concern and shared prayers for his health.

A Legendary Career

Salim Khan is regarded as one of Hindi cinema’s most influential writers. After beginning his career with small acting roles, he shifted to screenwriting and later formed the iconic duo Salim-Javed with Javed Akhtar.

Together, they wrote some of Bollywood’s most celebrated films, including Zanjeer, Deewar, and Don, which played a key role in shaping Amitabh Bachchan’s “angry young man” image during the 1970s.

After parting ways with Javed Akhtar, Salim continued to write films such as Angaaray, Naam, Kabzaa, and Jurm.

Family Background

Salim Khan married Salma Khan (born Sushila Charak) in 1964. The couple have four children — Salman Khan, Arbaaz Khan, Sohail Khan and Alvira Khan Agnihotri. In 1981, he married actor Helen. The family later adopted Arpita Khan.

He celebrated his 90th birthday on November 24 last year.
