At the World Economic Forum (WEF) Annual Meeting 2026 in Davos, Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu outlined an ambitious vision to transform Amaravati into one of the world’s best cities, inviting global investors and institutions to partner in the State’s growth journey.
Speaking at a high-level interaction on the sidelines of the forum, Mr. Naidu said India remains uniquely positioned to deliver sustained growth due to its demographic advantage, which he noted would continue for the next 25 to 30 years. He added that Andhra Pradesh aims to move beyond ease of doing business to what he described as “speed of doing business,” driven by policy reforms, infrastructure creation and investor facilitation.
Mr. Naidu highlighted India’s broader economic momentum, crediting strong national leadership and improved execution capabilities for accelerating large-scale projects. Recalling his earlier engagements at Davos in the 1990s, he said those experiences shaped his long-term vision for aligning Andhra Pradesh with global economic trends.
Emphasising urban development as a key growth pillar, the Chief Minister said Amaravati would be developed as a global benchmark city, combining sustainability, liveability and economic opportunity. He underscored the State’s potential in sectors such as renewable energy, food processing, logistics, ports, urban infrastructure, tourism and advanced manufacturing.
India’s natural advantages in solar and wind energy, coupled with growing storage capacity, position the country to lead the global green energy transition, Mr. Naidu said. He added that Andhra Pradesh is keen to collaborate with international partners across public and private sectors to unlock long-term value. The WEF 2026 gathering, being held in Davos from January 19 to 23, has brought together global political leaders, policymakers, and business executives to discuss economic resilience, geopolitical shifts and investment opportunities in a rapidly changing world.
