Air India, IndiGo Suspend Middle East Flights Amid Escalation

Major Indian carriers Air India and IndiGo have suspended flights to and from the Middle East as tensions linked to the IranIsrael conflict intensified.

The move comes after reports of missile strikes and airspace disruptions in parts of the region, including the United Arab Emirates, Bahrain, Saudi Arabia, Iraq and Jordan.

Air India Suspends All Middle East Operations

Air India announced that all its flights to destinations in the Middle East have been suspended in view of the developing security situation.

In an advisory, the airline said it remains committed to the safety of passengers and crew and will continue to monitor the evolving environment before resuming services.

The airline also stated that support teams are assisting affected passengers.

IndiGo Cancels Flights Till Midnight

IndiGo said it has cancelled all flights to and from the Middle East until midnight due to evolving airspace restrictions.

The carrier emphasised that safety and security remain its highest priority and added that operations would be recalibrated depending on further developments.

Global Airlines Follow Suit

The suspension by Indian carriers mirrors actions taken by several international airlines.

Airlines including Air France, Lufthansa, Wizz Air, Turkish Airlines, Qatar Airways and Japan Airlines have either cancelled, suspended or rerouted flights amid widespread airspace closures and heightened security risks.

Another Indian airline, SpiceJet, said some of its Dubai-bound services may also be impacted due to restricted airspace.

Airspace Disruptions Across the Region

The cancellations follow reported strikes and military activity across multiple Middle Eastern locations, prompting temporary airspace closures and flight diversions.

Airlines worldwide are closely tracking official advisories from aviation authorities and governments as the situation remains fluid.

Passengers travelling to or through the Middle East are advised to check directly with their airlines for updates and rebooking options.
