Jamia Senior Secondary School at Jamia Millia Islamia has partnered with IIT Madras School Connect to offer Classes 9 to 12 students online certificate courses across technology, science, humanities and management.
The eight-week courses are designed to help students explore academic interests, understand career options and make informed choices about higher education. The programme covers areas including Data Science and Artificial Intelligence, cybersecurity, economics and finance, law, digital humanities, ecology and forensic sciences.
Students can also explore specialised subjects such as electronic systems, architecture and design, biological systems, chemical engineering, aerospace and game technology.
For Classes 9 and 10, the programme can help students identify areas of interest before choosing Science, Commerce or Humanities in Class 11. Students in Classes 11 and 12 can use the courses to explore fields before selecting undergraduate programmes.
Students who complete the required assignments and examinations will receive e-certificates from IIT Madras’ Centre for Outreach and Digital Education.
The initiative gives school students an early look at fields that may otherwise sound like they belong strictly to college brochures—before they have to make some of their biggest academic choices.
