Top Lashkar Commander Fuji Musa Killed in Budgam, Security Forces Claim Major Breakthrough
Security forces have killed senior Lashkar commander Hashim alias Fuji Musa in Budgam's Yusmarg forests, in an operation officials say has dismantled the group's network in the region.
Security forces have killed senior Lashkar commander Hashim, alias Fuji Musa, in the Yusmarg forests of Budgam district in central Kashmir, according to the report. Forces had reportedly been tracking the commander for several months as he operated from the densely forested Pir Panjal region.
Musa was described as a highly trained Lashkar operative whose group had allegedly been active across multiple districts of Jammu and Kashmir for around three years. Security officials said the group was involved in attacks targeting army convoys and security personnel.
The operation is being described as a major setback for the network, with security forces claiming that Musa's elimination has effectively dismantled the Lashkar group operating in the region.
The forests of the Pir Panjal range had provided difficult terrain for security operations, allowing militants to remain concealed for extended periods. The latest operation followed months of tracking and intelligence gathering.
Officials are now expected to assess whether any remaining members or support networks linked to the group are still active in the area.
