NCERT has released Understanding Society: India and Beyond, a new Class 9 Social Science textbook available for purchase from September 29, 2026.
NCERT has released a new Social Science textbook for Class 9, titled Understanding Society: India and Beyond, Social Science Textbook for Grade 9, Part 2. The book is available for purchase from September 29, 2026, through NCERT’s authorised sales channels.
The National Council of Educational Research and Training announced the release in a statement dated September 28. Students, teachers, parents and researchers can purchase the textbook through NCERT Publication Division outlets, authorised vendors and online platforms, including the official NCERT website and Amazon.
The new book is part of NCERT’s ongoing textbook update under the revised school curriculum. However, the council’s announcement did not provide detailed information about the chapters or specific subjects covered in the new Class 9 Social Science textbook.
The release comes as NCERT continues to introduce updated learning material for school students. Those looking for additional information about the publication can contact the NCERT Publication Division.
Students and parents can therefore access the new textbook from September 29 through authorised offline and online sellers, giving schools and learners another updated resource for the Class 9 Social Science curriculum.
