Pralhad Joshi Meets IIT Madras Students During Morning Walk, Discusses India’s Future
Union Education Minister Pralhad Joshi interacted with IIT Madras students during a morning walk on campus, hearing about their experiences, aspirations and ideas for India’s future.
Union Education Minister Pralhad Joshi interacted with students at IIT Madras during a morning walk, using the informal campus visit to hear about their experiences, aspirations and ideas for India’s future.
Joshi shared photographs from his visit on social media, saying he began the morning with a walk across the IIT Madras campus. During the walk, he met students and exchanged thoughts on their vision for the country.
The minister said the students’ enthusiasm, ideas and energy made the interaction particularly meaningful. He also highlighted the potential of India’s young generation to contribute to the country’s development.
The interaction comes amid continued focus on the role of premier higher education institutions in strengthening research, innovation, technology and entrepreneurship in India.
IIT Madras has emerged as an important centre for academic research, technological innovation and startup development. Its student and research communities have increasingly contributed to projects spanning emerging technologies and other sectors.
Joshi’s campus interaction also offered a more informal setting for engagement between a Union minister and students, allowing conversations to move beyond formal meetings and events.
The visit comes after Joshi’s recent engagement with the IIT Madras community at SANGAM 2026, where he discussed strengthening India’s innovation ecosystem and expanding the role of technology, research and entrepreneurship in the country’s development.
For the students, a morning campus walk turned into an unexpected opportunity for a direct conversation with the Union Education Minister—proof that sometimes the most interesting campus interaction doesn’t require a seminar hall.
