Rahul Gandhi Launches Satyagraha Portal to Map Protests Across India
Rahul Gandhi has launched the Satyagraha digital platform to collect and map public grievances and protest movements across India.
Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi has launched a digital platform called Satyagraha to bring information about public grievances and protests across India onto a common map.
Announcing the initiative on October 3, Gandhi invited people to share details of their struggles and issues through the platform. According to his announcement, the initiative is intended to bring together voices from groups including youth, students, farmers, tribals, Dalits and women.
The platform allows people involved in protests or movements to submit information about their causes. These submissions are intended to be displayed on a digital map, allowing users to identify other movements dealing with similar issues.
Gandhi said the initiative would help connect people who are often fighting their battles separately. He also said the Congress would support people raising such concerns and take up their issues both in Parliament and outside it.
The launch comes amid several ongoing protests and public campaigns across India, making the new portal another digital channel for documenting grassroots grievances.
The initiative borrows its name from Mahatma Gandhi’s philosophy of Satyagraha, with Rahul Gandhi framing collective action and unity as central to the platform.
Basically, India’s protest map just got a new digital address—because apparently even grievances now need a GPS.
