India on Saturday issued a travel advisory urging its citizens to avoid all non-essential travel to Venezuela amid escalating political uncertainty in the South American nation.
The Ministry of External Affairs also advised Indian nationals currently residing in Venezuela to exercise extreme caution, restrict their movements, and remain in close contact with the Indian Embassy in Caracas for updates and assistance.
The advisory follows major developments in Caracas that have triggered uncertainty over security and governance. Several global powers have reacted to the situation, raising concerns about regional stability.
According to official estimates, around 50 Non-Resident Indians and approximately 30 Persons of Indian Origin are presently living in Venezuela. Authorities have emphasized the importance of staying alert and following official instructions as the situation continues to evolve.
Indian citizens have been urged to monitor government advisories closely and prioritise personal safety.
