US Says Operation Epic Fury May Last 4–6 Weeks

The ongoing war involving the United States, Israel and Iran has entered a critical phase, with missile strikes, drone attacks and naval clashes spreading across the Middle East.

Officials in Washington said the military campaign — reportedly named Operation Epic Fury — could continue for four to six weeks, as fighting intensifies across several countries in the region.

The conflict has already triggered widespread destruction, heavy casualties and major disruptions to global trade routes and energy markets.

White House Claims Iranian Navy “Combat Ineffective”

According to the White House, US military strikes have severely weakened Iran’s naval capabilities.

Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt said American forces have destroyed more than 30 Iranian vessels, effectively making the country’s navy “combat ineffective.”

She added that the US military has also neutralised several missile threats targeting American troops and regional bases during the first week of operations.

However, US officials stated that ground troops are not currently part of the plan, although future options have not been ruled out.

Fighting between Iran and Israel has continued with repeated missile launches and air strikes.

Iran reportedly fired new missiles toward Tel Aviv, triggering Israel’s air defence systems. In response, Israeli forces expanded strikes targeting Hezbollah positions in Beirut in Lebanon.

Security agencies reported rocket and drone attacks on several military installations and infrastructure sites.

Strait of Hormuz Crisis Hits Global Oil Supply

The conflict has significantly affected maritime traffic through the Strait of Hormuz, one of the world’s most important oil shipping routes.

Missile threats and naval operations have reduced tanker movement in the area by nearly 90 percent, according to reports.

As a result, global oil prices have surged, with energy markets showing signs of volatility amid fears of prolonged disruption.

Shipping companies are also suspending routes due to growing security risks.

Rising Casualties and Humanitarian Concerns

The war has already resulted in significant human losses across the region.

Reports indicate that:

• Over 1,000 people have been killed in Iran

• Dozens have died in Lebanon and Israel

• Thousands of civilians have fled the Iranian capital Tehran

The United Nations has warned that the escalating violence could trigger a major humanitarian crisis and further destabilise the global economy.
