Ex-Prince Andrew Takes UK Police to Court Over Epstein Files Arrest
Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor has reportedly launched a legal challenge against Thames Valley Police over his arrest linked to allegations involving Jeffrey Epstein.
Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor, the younger brother of King Charles III, has reportedly launched a legal challenge against Thames Valley Police over his arrest in connection with allegations involving Jeffrey Epstein.
According to a report cited in the article, Mountbatten-Windsor has asked a judge to examine whether the police action was lawful. His reported judicial review concerns search warrants that allowed officers to raid his home at the Sandringham Estate and his former residence at Royal Lodge in Windsor.
He was arrested in February on suspicion of misconduct in public office over allegations that he passed government documents to Epstein while serving as a UK trade representative between 2001 and 2011. Police later questioned him as part of their investigation.
Mountbatten-Windsor has denied wrongdoing related to Epstein and has said he regrets their friendship. The police allegations remain allegations, and no finding of guilt has been established.
Thames Valley Police and Buckingham Palace had not immediately commented on the reported legal action.
Mountbatten-Windsor stepped down from official royal duties in 2019 amid scrutiny over his relationship with Epstein. He was stripped of his royal titles and honours last year following renewed revelations about the relationship.
The royal drama has now moved from headlines to the courtroom, where the legal questions will be tested.
