Bhuvneshwar Kumar will captain India at the Hong Kong Sixes from October 30 to November 1, leading a seven-member squad featuring several experienced Indian cricketers.

The squad includes Krunal Pandya, Shashank Singh, Rahul Tewatia, Nitish Rana, Rahul Tripathi and T Natarajan. Apart from Shashank, all have represented India at the international level.

Bhuvneshwar has enjoyed a strong white-ball season. He claimed 28 wickets in 16 matches during IPL 2026 while helping Royal Challengers Bengaluru defend their title. He followed that with 14 wickets in 11 matches in the UP T20 League.

Despite his recent form, the 36-year-old has said he is not chasing an India comeback and is continuing to play because of his love for the game.

The Hong Kong Sixes is a six-a-side format that rewards attacking cricket and versatility. India will be looking to improve on their 2025 campaign, when they beat Pakistan in their opening match before losing their next two games.

Pakistan enter the 2026 tournament as defending champions after winning the 2025 title.

Bhuvneshwar succeeds Dinesh Karthik as India captain. With six players on the field and very little room for defensive cricket, the tournament could make for some seriously chaotic scorecards.
